I have been visiting Northstar approximately five years, as a Eucharistic Minister from St Teresa of Avila Church. I’ve always been impressed by the friendliness and caring attitude of the nurses and staff. I want to give a double thumbs up, and a loving heart, to Tiffany, the Director of activities. She is dedicated to the residents and you are so very privileged to have her as part of the team.
From the administration team to the housekeeping staff, everyone at Northstar Post Acute was exceptional. From the moment my dad arrived until his passing, they treated him like family with genuine compassion, dignity, and respect. Caring for a loved one who is in another state is incredibly difficult, but the entire team went above and beyond to support both my dad and our family. They were always willing to help, communicate, and make sure he received excellent care. What meant the most to me was that everyone seemed to know my dad personally. He smiled every time someone came into his room, and it was evident that he felt loved and cared for. I will always be grateful for the kindness, professionalism, and compassion shown by the staff at Northstar Post Acute during my dad’s final months. They made a difficult season a little easier, and I cannot thank them enough. I wholeheartedly recommend Northstar Post Acute to anyone looking for a facility where residents are truly treated like family.
When my mom was admitted here I had my doubts but the staff has gotten so much better from before I would recommend this facility to anyone they always greet me with a smile every day i show up
Amazing place, great and kind staff. Highly recommended!
If I could give minus stars I would. Most traumatic experience me and my family ever had. Filthy, rooms, food on the floors, nurse button hanging inside trash cans, on the floor or anywhere but near the patient, urine bags full and over flowing, no care or help whatsoever. My brother was neglected and ignored, dirty filthy, no blankets, half sliding off his bed, everytime we or the rest of the family visited. I threatened to file a police report and ischmael the director asked us to give him time to fix it. Next time I went there, my brother was knocked out on morphine so he couldn’t complain to me. My brother had terminal prostate cancer but lived without any medication or treatment for 10 years. He didn’t like the feeling of pain meds, and when we last saw him he was eating tamales, guacamole, raspberries and Gatorade because we brought it but then when our older brother and his girlfriend visited our brother was knocked out on morphine and some other meds. This place is rotten to the core, no one cares or helps those who cant walk or reach for their own food. My brother told me they had poured cold water on him and refused to help him because he was DNR. The nurse confirmed to me that DNR dont get fed, bathed etc. One of the nurses gave us the number to complain to the authorities but by the time we went back, my brother was dead. He survived years without doctors, but died in less than 2 months at Northstar Post Acute. My brother was a Marine Veteran and deserved a whole lot better. I have photos I’ll up load a little later.
My father has been a resident at Northstar Post Acute since September 2025 and living over 3000 miles away from him has not been easy. I wanted to take a moment to recognize three individuals who have gone far above their normal responsibilities to help care for my dad and keep me informed and connected throughout his stay. Sandy in Social Services has been incredibly compassionate and proactive and helping facilitate a special Facetime program so I can stay connected with my father despite the distance, her kindness and communication have meant more to our family than words can express.♥️ Jacquie, the nurse practitioner has been thoughtful, attentive and thorough overseeing my father‘s medical care and recommendations. It brings tremendous peace of mind knowing someone is paying close attention to his overall health and well-being. ✝️Allison, the floor supervisor has been exceptional in coordinating my father services and helping oversee his day-to-day care. Her professionalism, communication and genuine concern for residents truly stands out. 🤍When you live far away from a loved one compassionate people make all the difference.🙏🏼 I’m sincerely grateful for the care, communication and humanity. these three individuals have shown my father and our family. The facility is clean and organized and the staff is friendly and attentive. Sometimes angels don’t have wings. Thank You Northstar Family🙏🏼✝️🤍🌟

No care for patients, talk nasty to patients, staff promises to do something and they don’t. they ignore you and never follow through. I wouldn’t send anyone there even if I hated them.

My father was on the road to recovery-one month in the hands of this medically mismanaged, substandard “nursing!” and rehab facility, my dad is dead. Neglect, zero documentation, no follow up, negligence-we know this is what led to his demise. We will be relentless in our pursuit of the process that allowed this to occur. Our insurance company has been notified, complaints filed and we will or stop until we can insure this never happens to another family, ever again.
